Do they know it's Christmas?: Zimbabwe.

One of the members of the Amicale-Afrique, Lister Chapeta, is from Zimbabwe.
As you know - Zimbabwe is currently not only haunted by a major food crisis but also by a tragic cholera outbreak which affected already more than 15,000 persons and no end to see...

When Lister is going home for Christmas she will organise a food distribution on Christmas eve in Harare with a local student organisation.

Collé Ardo vit dans un village africain. Il y a sept ans, elle a refusé que sa fille soit excisée, pratique qu'elle juge barbare. Aujourd'hui, quatre fillettes s'enfuient pour échapper à ce rite de purification, et demandent à Collé protection. Deux valeurs s'affrontent alors: le respect du droit d'asile (le Moolaadé) et l'antique tradition de l'excision (la Salindé).

Collé Ardo lives in an African village. Seven years ago she had refused that her girl would be circumcised, a practice that she believes to be barbarian. Today, four girls run away to avoid this purification ritual and ask Collé for protection. Two values are confronting each other: the respect of the right to asylum (Moolaadé) and the tradition of female circumcision (Salindé).

Hommage au fameux auteur et cinéaste sénégalais Sembene Ousmane (1923-2007) Parmi les long-métrages sont notamment La Noire de...(1966), Mandabi (1968), Emitaï (1971), Xala (1974), Ceddo (1977), Camp de Thiaroye (1988), Guelwaar (1992), Faat Kiné (2000), et Moolaadé (2000) - tous disponible à la bibliothèque IUHEID. Il est aussi régisseur de divers documentaires et auteur de nombreux romans.
